The Reiki Healers Alliance of New Jersey :

Kristin Carr and Mary Jo Deitrich formed a service called The Reiki Healers Alliance of New Jersey. The team is an open enrollment operation for fellow energy workers who can volunteer some time for those who need care. Our main goal is to have an informal grouping of like minded Reiki/Energy Healers, to meet, discuss, share, support and offer our services to people and animals in need.

Kristin, Mary and director of the LCC, SuZen are also working out a schedule for a Reiki Share.  It will be on Sunday Afternoons 2-5pm., Restarting in October at the Life Coaching Center, LLC located at 261, East Main Street, in Somerville New Jersey (see event section for more information). What a blessing it would be if we can all get together to meditate and share each other's healing.

A project at Care Alternatives:

Hospice Volunteer Program

Care Alternatives is a nondenominational, multicultural hospice and palliative care provider. They embrace the patient( person who needs care) and family's cultural, religious and spiritual needs, caring for the patient (person who needs care) and supporting the family in a manner consistent with their beliefs, customs and daily routines.

They are currently looking for Alternative/Complementary Volunteers trained in massage, Reiki, reflexology, pet therapy, art therapy, etc. I have been in contact with them to gather basic information regarding their program and how we could go about joining them.

Care Alternatives provides training (no cost) and certification to volunteer as part of their organization. The training consists of 20 hours, broken in to multiple sessions. They will train us on what we should do, touch, say in a hospice environment. It also consists of training for bereavement and Death and Dying, among other things.
